March 23, 2014 Bush Class - Shavings/feather stick

A hat full of shavings from feather sticks....

Made from a maple branch using my Condor Bushcraft Basic Knife.   This pile overfilled my DIY Wood Gas Stove....

These shavings were so dry and thin that one match dropped in lit them....

In only One minute  I had wood gas efficiency.....

Hopefully this will herald in spring weather with this ritual......
